WE DID IT! 10MILES/16KM in 1HOUR 45 MINS! WOO HOO!! THANK YOU for all your generosity & support! Yvie & Mike x Dear Lovely Sponsors, Well I survived & successfully completed the Great South Run with Mike yesterday & not only finished it but beat my target time of 2 hours! We did it in 1hour & 45 mins!!! Cannot believe it & am well chuffed!(though am hobbling a tad today!) I think the fact that I read the home run signs wrong, in that I read 800m as 200m & started sprinting literally to the finish line or so I thought! probably helped my time, but not me when I was hanging out & passed the 400k sign & realised my mistake! I had to slow down then to a slower pace & wasn’t sure I could finish but Mike kept me going & we took the next 200m slower, then on the final 200m we went for gold again & sprinted to the finish! We crossed the line together but then on looking at the website my positioning was 11,238th! & can you believe it Mike’s was 11,237th!? Though our times were exactly the same!? Well I guess he kind of might have been dragging me over the line so maybe deserves that slightly higher positioning! Thank you all to your fantastic support, we managed to raise £960.00 & with another £200.00 in Gift Aid a total of £1,160.00!! for MacMillan Cancer Support which is FABULOUS! I couldn’t have done it without all your generous support spurring me on & of course to be running in honour of My Lovely Mum, Sheila D. Thanks Yvie x P.S.
