I first met Sheila Corkery when Angela & I were married 25 years ago today. She was the only person from the England there and honestly her visit was the catalyst for us decideding to get married when we did, or who knows maby we wouldent be married today? But thats a different story, this is the story of my favorite memory of Sheila Corkery. First picture Sheila riding gooesberry accross halve the united states in our 1966 ford van with a canoe on top and covered with just married signs and if thats not an amusing enough image all ready I do belive she did enjoy the regular double take from the odd petrol attendent when Angela was taking a nap in the back, but I digress my favorit memory is of taking Sheila and Angela up to a place in the mountains where I used to go when I was a boy in Utah in the early 60s its about a three hour round trip on foot and in the first 10 min we came up on a 7' snake lying accross the path I though thats the end of this, but no, threw a rock or two snake moved on and so did Sheila, we when we were almost to the waterfall we came to the creek that can as a rule can be crossed without getting ones feet wet but that day due too the heavy snow melt was about 25 feet wide and two feet or more deep and moving fast. We rested a min and Angela took me aside to say maby it was time head back and when we turned around there was Sheila shoes and socks off dress in a bunch at her knees grinning and thats the grin! thats the memory! The the boundless giggling child inside us all, with me on one arm and Angela on the other over we went and the look on Sheilas face as we bumbbled across that sharp rocked ice cold agony was of the extasy you will only find on face of somone who has realy lived! Thats the memory I am holding onto now. please pardon my spelling . Sheila Corkery you will by missed; your loving son in law, Andrew curry
