I never would have imagined the end would be like this, me comforting you,
Holding your hand, telling you not to worry was not an easy thing for me to do,
And even in your weakest hour you tried to comfort me too
Caressing my face and calming my soul as only a mother can soothe
You have always been there through thick and thin
No matter what we’ve done
Unconditionally your love never wavering
When we told you of mistakes we’d made and the times people saw us fall
You simply nodded and gently replied ‘So have we all’
I would give anything to have you back
But I know now, that it’s not meant to be,
For you are still watching, but now from up there
And I know you are watching over me
We will make you proud Mum
At least to all do our very best
You are going to see us and smile
Whilst you take your well-earned rest
We wish we all had, some time to say
How we loved you so
But some of us never got the chance
Because it was your time to go
Mum how we will all miss you
We hope you know about our love
Because it’s strength will always remain true
As you look down upon us, from above
We will all think of you in our times of need
When our lives may be getting tough
And when we’re feeling down, we all know,
That the memory of your spirit will cheer us up
When we try so hard to move on
But still begin to breakdown and cry
We will think of the happier place you’ve moved onto
And once again we will try
So to us all, when we are missing Our Mum, Our Friend, Our Wife
All we have to do is try
To think about the happy times we all had with her
And that it was just her time to say Goodbye….
